#Happy birthday, Filament!
We've come a long way since Filament's official v1 release, and it's been an incredible journey. We've launched an unbelievable amount of Filament features, and, most importantly to us, we've built up an amazing community along the way. We say this often, but we are so appreciative of all the support we have received from all of you along the way–Filament would look very different without all of your feedback, contributions, and bright ideas.
To celebrate Filament's fifth birthday, we are thrilled to announce two projects that we have been working on behind the scenes for a long time now: Filament's new brand, and our second premium plugin: Filament Custom Dashboards.
#Filament's new brand
Welcome to the new Filament brand! We're so excited to finally be able to show this to all of you–it's been in the works for a very long time.
We love Filament so much, and we're proud of all of the incredible work that has been done to make it the most starred package in the Laravel ecosystem (at least at the time of writing). But, about a year ago, we started looking around for other ways that we could improve Filament outside of the technical work. This search directly led to projects like our documentation improvements that launched alongside Filament v4.
However, the biggest project that we wanted to tackle was the issue of how we represented ourselves as a brand. For years, we've worked on the design of the Filament website and docs to make them look good, and Hassan has done an unbelievable job every single time. But what we haven't done is take a step back and consider how we want Filament to be represented and perceived, and now with our new brand, we have done just that.
To most people, this likely just looks like a new coat of paint. But as you see more coming from the Filament team throughout the rest of 2026, you'll begin to see a more coherent mission and voice coming from us. It's a signal from us to you, the community, that now more than ever, we're committed to keeping Filament around for the long-haul.
Now that we've flipped the brand switch, you'll see the new colors, verbiage, and (my personal favorite) the introduction (and re-introduction in the case of one of our beloved characters), of our three Filament mascots. You can read more about Sparky, Atlas, and Barney in our "Meet the Mascots" post. Trust me, you aren't going to want to miss this one.
And don't worry, if you're a merch kind of person, then never fear–we've updated our merch store with all of our new branding so you can represent your favorite way to build TALL stack apps wherever you go! But hey, don't get rid of that old Filament merch–now it qualifies as vintage!
We're incredibly excited for and proud of the work that we've done to take Filament's branding to an entirely new level, and we hope that you all love it just as much as we do.
Before we close out, we want to give a huge shout-out to a few folks who made this all possible. Hassan, our intrepid design expert, and the wonderful folks at Studio Hicks were instrumental in getting this project done and over the line, so thank you to all of you for your incredible work and dedication to making the Filament community truly something special!
#Filament's new premium plugin
You didn't think we would push a massive update to Filament without doing something technical, did you? That's just not how we roll!
Alongside the introduction of our new Filament brand, we want to introduce the newest of our premium plugins: Filament Custom Dashboards!
Just like our last premium plugin, Filament Blueprint, Custom Dashboards was built from the ground up to fit perfectly into your Filament application without any fuss, but this time, we're talking data!
You can learn more about Filament Custom Dashboards in this video here, but here's the TL;DR. The Filament Custom Dashboards plugin gives you an easy way to provide your Filament users with the ability to create, manage, and share their own custom, data-driven dashboards, right within the Filament panel.
Getting set up is as simple as generating or manually creating data sources for the Filament resources you want your users to have access to. And these data sources are simple; if you can build a form or a table in Filament, you'll feel right at home here. Because the Custom Dashboards plugin was built by the Filament core team, you can rest assured knowing that not only does it work flawlessly with Filament, but that the developer experience is top-notch like the rest of what we all have come to know and love in Filament.
