Time to give your Filament panel a new look (or three)!

One of the best parts about Filament is how it gives you everything you need to build powerful applications and admin panels right out of the box. The team has poured hours, days, and sometimes even weeks into tweaking both the styling and the functionality of our components to make sure that developers don't have to worry about broken components or UI that doesn't match the rest of the system. We want Filament to feel as good to use as it does to build.

The default Filament theme is a testament to all that hard work. No matter what component you use or what layout you concoct within a Filament panel, you always get a consistent, visually pleasing UI that makes sense and is easy for your users to understand. However, we know that as incredible as the default Filament theme is, it doesn't necessarily suit all tastes and applications.

That's why today, we're proud to announce four brand new premium first-party themes, including our first modifier theme (more on what that means in a bit): Soft, Sharp, Noir, and Compact!

#What makes first-party themes different?

Using a first-party Filament theme comes with a handful of important benefits:

  1. Each of our new themes announced today has been built on top of our years of knowledge and experience from building and maintaining our default theme. That means when you use a first-party theme, you know that you're building on top of a battle-tested, usable, clean, and accessible base layer.
  2. Because these new themes are built by the Filament core team, they are guaranteed to be released in lockstep with future versions of Filament. That way, you'll never have to wait to update your Filament applications to the latest and greatest because of a breaking change in your theme.
  3. First-party themes will continue to guarantee support for all active versions of Filament. This means, at the time of writing, that both Filament v4 and v5 are supported. This also means that, when using a first-party Filament theme, your questions and support requests are handled directly by the Filament core team.
  4. Last, but certainly not least, each purchase of a premium, first-party theme gets fed back into Filament to continue to fund the work that is done daily on the Filament packages.

#Meet the themes!

#Soft

The Soft theme was designed to give everyday admin tasks a bit of a (sorry) softer touch. Serif fonts, muted colors, and softer rounded corners make this a theme that is easy on the eyes and perfect for applications that want to focus on a simple, welcoming vibe. Soft is intentionally the closest in nature to the default theme, so if you like the default but want to try something designed to look and feel a little bit more friendly, this is the theme for you!

#Sharp

Where Soft leans into making your panel feel less utilitarian and more human and warm, Sharp is perfect for those looking specifically to add definition to busy screens full of data. Sharp is designed to make dense information easy to read with its precise, technical look and feel.

If you work on an application that is filled to the brim with information, statistics, and other data, Sharp is the theme for you. Bonus tip: combine Sharp with Compact (more on that below) to achieve the ultimate experience for dense, data-forward applications at scale.

#Noir

Are you looking for something bold? Something striking? Something very, very dark? Look no further than Noir. Noir is our most meticulously designed theme out of the bunch by far, and we love how the deep black background and inset fields cause your content and actions to show up front and center. If you're a dark-mode lover or you're building a content-focused panel, Noir is for you!

#More room to work with Compact

Last, but certainly not least, I want to dedicate this section to talking specifically about Compact, our first modifier theme.

Modifier themes are a new idea within the Filament theme ecosystem. Rather than changing the entire visual style of a panel, they modify a specific aspect of whichever theme you use.

So what does Compact do, then?

  1. Compact acts as a density modifier by reducing spacing and padding wherever possible to allow users to fit more rows, fields, and actions on a single screen.
  2. It works with Filament’s Default theme, as well as Soft, Sharp, and Noir.
  3. It maintains the panel's colors, fonts, and icons.

Take a look and compare for yourself!

Compact is a phenomenal choice for professional applications, especially in environments where the amount of data you can fit on a screen is the top priority over everything else.

#Launch pricing

To celebrate the launch, we're offering automatically applied discounts on all four themes for the rest of September 2026. Single-project licenses save $10, while unlimited-project licenses save $30:

Theme Single project Unlimited projects
Compact $29 (usually $39) $69 (usually $99)
Soft, Sharp, or Noir $39 (usually $49) $99 (usually $129)
Soft, Sharp, or Noir + Compact $59 (usually $69) $139 (usually $169)

Every license includes one year of updates, including compatibility updates for new Filament major versions. These launch discounts are available through September 30, 2026.

#We hope you love the new themes!

Truly, we really hope you love these new first-party themes! We've poured a lot of time into these to make sure they represent their own special identities while remaining distinctly "Filament."

You can compare every theme, explore light and dark appearances, preview Compact spacing, and view all pricing and license options on the new Filament Themes page.

We're excited to hear what you think of the new themes, and we're even more excited to start seeing them used out in the wild! I know I personally am ready to use a couple of these on existing projects that just fit the vibe.

That's all for now, happy building!
